Editorial Policy

Game descriptions, how-to-play steps, tips, FAQs, category texts and guide articles on 2oyun are published under the byline 2oyun Editors. This page explains how those texts are made, what they are based on, and what you can do if you spot a mistake.

How the texts are written

Texts are prepared by 2oyun Editors, and every text passes a quality check before it is published. We don't make games; every game has its own developer or publisher. A text about a game draws on three sources:

  • The publisher's information: the blurb, tags, category and controls supplied by the distribution network or the developer.
  • Artwork and gameplay: the cover image and the game screen. Controls and the goal are checked against the publisher's information and the game screen; games we host ourselves are also opened in a browser and run through a short automated play test.
  • Source code and licence for games we host ourselves: the developer's repository, the licence file and the version we packaged.

No text is published as is: the text is compared with the game's data and goes through automated quality checks (length, repetition, banned phrases, similarity to other texts, spelling), and games with inconsistencies are filtered out before publishing. When the blurb contradicts the artwork or the title, no text is written for that game.

Not every game has a Turkish text yet. Games without one show the distribution network's own English blurb; those pages are kept out of search engines until a Turkish text is added.

What we don't write

  • Claims that can't be verified. A text only says a game works on phones, has a certain number of levels or supports two players when the source states it or the game screen confirms it.
  • Unmeasurable praise such as "the best ever", or invented numbers such as player counts.
  • Other brands' names or comparisons that tie a game to a well-known franchise.
  • Fictional authors. There are no made-up names, titles or "expert gamer" profiles under our texts; the byline is always the team's shared name.

Updates and dates

When a game's Turkish text changes, the "Last updated" date on the game page changes too. That date only moves when the text is actually revised; new artwork or technical details don't affect it. Guide articles show their publication and update dates separately.

Ratings and comments

Star ratings and comments on game pages come from our players. We only show an average once there are enough real votes, and we never buy or create ratings or comments. Comments pass an automatic filter, and suspicious ones are reviewed before they appear.

Ads and editorial content

2oyun stays free thanks to advertising. Ad slots are labelled as ads and never mixed into editorial text. We don't accept payment for a game's description, its ranking or its place in recommendations.

Found a mistake?

If you notice wrong information, a missing control key or another game's text in a description, write to us through the Contact page or at hi@2oyun.com. The game's link and what is wrong is all we need. Confirmed corrections are applied to the text.

How we pick games and when we remove them is explained on How We Choose Games.
