A tall stack of tiles, pairs of matching symbols and a calm soundtrack: that's the mood of browser mahjong. Most versions here follow the tile-matching style of play, where you pick two identical tiles that are free, meaning nothing sits on top of them and at least one side is open, and remove them from the board. Alongside the classic turtle layout you'll find dozens of shapes, 3D cube variations and timed challenges.

The trick is not to grab the easiest pair you see. Instead, prioritise moves that release locked tiles, especially those on top of tall stacks and at the ends of long rows. That keeps the board from jamming up near the end. Many games also offer hints or a shuffle button if you get stuck.
