Developers

If you build HTML5 games and want more people to play them, you're in the right place. 2oyun is a free game portal for Turkish- and English-speaking players that works on both mobile and desktop. This page explains how we list games and how you can work with us.

How we list games

1. Open-source games

If your game is open source and its licence allows commercial use and redistribution (MIT, Apache 2.0, BSD, GPL, CC BY and similar), we may host it on our own servers. In that case we clearly display your name, the licence and a link to your source code on the game's page. Because the site is supported by advertising, we don't publish games under licences with a non-commercial (NC) clause.

2. Through game distribution networks

If you've uploaded your game to the GameMonetize network, it can appear on 2oyun alongside the other portals in that network. Under this model, revenue sharing and in-game ad management are handled by the network, and the game loads in a frame from its servers. Games from the GameDistribution network are not shown on the site at the moment.

What we look for

  • HTML5: the game should run in modern browsers without any plugins.
  • Mobile friendly: we give priority to games that support touch controls and adapt to different screen sizes.
  • No external trackers: games we host ourselves shouldn't include third-party tracking code, analytics scripts or unannounced external requests. If they do, we remove them where the licence allows.
  • Clear licensing: the repository should include a clear LICENSE file, and the licensing of assets such as graphics, sound and music should be stated too.
  • Suitable content: we welcome players of all ages, so we don't publish games with extreme violence, hate speech, gambling or adult content, or games that use well-known brands or characters without permission. We sweep network games for these regularly and unpublish the ones that match.

Attribution and links back

Every open-source game we host shows the developer's name, the licence, a link to the source code and, if you like, a link to your website or profile. If we've modified the game, we say so. Credits screens and copyright notices inside the game are left untouched.
